Elevator Working Principles

Both ends of the hoist rope tied up on the traction pulley and the guide pulley are respectively connected with the lift car and the counterpoise. The electronic tractor operates along with the traction pulley by adjusting the speed of decelerator, then the lift car and the counterpoise would travel in opposite direction with the traction force produced by the friction between the hoist rope and the guide pulley, hence, the purpose of delivery is achieved.

The guide shoes fixed on the lift car can be moved along the fixed lead rails which are installed on the well walls of the building to prevent the car from moving slantingly or unsteadily. When the driving engine is operating, the normally closed block brake releases its brake to allow the elevator to work. When the power is cut off, the brake stops the lift car and keeps it static at the designated floor to allow passengers and substances in or out.

The lift car is used to deliver passengers or other loads, while the counterpoise is used to balance the lift car and reduce the power consumption of the driving engine. Compensating device is used to compensate the tension and weight changes caused by the operation of the hoist rope, and to ensure that the driving engine operates properly and the lift car can be safely landed.

The electrical system controls the operation of the elevator, meanwhile, it conducts tasks such as floor selection, leveling, speed inspection and lighting. Indicator call system momentarily informs the traveling direction of the lift car and its position at certain floor. Safety device ensures the safe operation of the elevator.
